Fall 2024 Recreational Program

Vaqueritos Rec Soccer is designed for children ages 4 to 14. The program aims to introduce and teach age-appropriate technical and tactical skills, fostering both an appreciation and everlasting love of the beautiful game. 


During the first six weeks of the fall season, PYSL includes a one-hour clinic hosted by Vaqueros FC directors, coaching staff members, and paid soccer professionals.  Our parent volunteer coaches host one weekly practice and manage games on Saturdays, inside the city of Poway.

  • Registration Information

    • $235 on or before June 30, 2025
    • $275 starting on July 1, 2025
    • $325 starting on August 15, 2025 (waitlist)
    • Waitlist players will be informed by August 31st if they are rostered or will receive a refund.

  • Fall Age Group Matrix & Format

    • U6:  2021 | 2020
    • U8:  2019 | 2018
    • U10:  2017 | 2016
    • U12:  2015 | 2014
    • U14:  2013 | 2012

    GAME FORMAT

    • U6 Co-ed Division: 3v3 or 4v4, Size 3 Ball
    • U8 Division: 7v7, Size 4 Ball
    • U10 Division: 7v7, Size 4 Ball
    • U12 Division: 9v9, Size 4 Ball
    • U14 Division: 11v11, Size 5 Ball

    * Divisions and game formats could change pending overall numbers and team creation needs for scheduling purposes

  • Player Clinic Program

    • Clinics are run by Vaqueros directors, coaches, and coaching professionals hired by Poway Youth Soccer League.
    • Clinics begin Friday, August 30th.
    • This is a 6-week Program.

  • Team Practices

    • Practices begin the week of August 25th, 2025, based on volunteer coach scheduling availability.
    • Subject to change based on the timeliness of registration numbers, team formation,  AND coaching volunteers.

  • Saturday Games

    • The first game will be on Saturday, September 6th, 2025
    • The last game will be Saturday, November 8th, 2025

    LOCATIONS


    Clinics and practices are within the city of Poway at the following facilities: Garden Road Park, Hilleary Park, Meadowbrook Middle School, Silverset Neighborhood Park, Valley Elementary, and Valle Verde Park.


    OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS


    Unfortunately, there will be no make-ups due to weather and/or circumstances we can not control (e.g., city field closures, etc.)

    You may request to play with a friend, but there are NO guarantees. Friend requests are NOT considered unless the player chooses a friend that chooses them back.


    Multiple friend requests will NOT be considered, as this can create unbalanced teams.


    Refunds will NOT be issued if friend requests are not granted.
