Get On the Bus & Poway Youth Soccer
Get On the Bus breaks down financial and transportation barriers so that kids can play recreational soccer on a team in their community, while also learning valuable life skills and good study habits through this free afterschool program.
Poway Youth Soccer League is excited to collaborate with GOTB to ensure soccer is accessible to more children, empowering them to apply lessons learned on and off the field to become positive community contributors.
About the Program
- 2025 Fall School Year Requirements
Available to 2025 Fall School Year’s third and fourth grade students who attend a Title I Program school
Child has never registered or received playing card from a US Soccer sanctioned league (i.e., USYSA, CYSA, AYSO, etc.)
- GOTB and Nike Sponsorship
If your child meets the above guidelines, they will receive all soccer gear FREE - jerseys, shorts, socks, cleats, soccer ball, and tote bag.

Each week your child will receive an after-school snack, complete his/her homework, and participate in a one hour team practice.
- Play in PYSL Fall Rec Program
Each team participates in PYSL Fall Rec program with potential travel covered if sufficient need.
Additional Information
- August Kickoff Clinic
- 6-week skill development program run by Vaqueros FC Directors, coaching staff, and, when needed, paid soccer professionals
- 11-week practice season within PYSL organization at Poway soccer, park, or school fields
- One hour practices led by a volunteer coach
- 10 Saturday League games from September 6, 2025, to November 8, 2025
Program Eligibility
- Must attend a Title 1 designated school (i.e., Midland, Pomerado, Los Pen, Valley)
- Must be a third or fourth grader in the 2025 Fall school year
- Never registered or received a playing card to play in a US Soccer sanctioned league (i.e. USYSA, CYSA, Cal South, any club competitive or recreation leagues, etc.)
